Peter Walker with his youngest fan, Catherine

Murder in the bookshop...

Nicholas Rhea went to Whitby for a signing of Constable at the Fair, the latest in the long-running series which inspired tv's Heartbeat. He reports: "We were looking forward to a day of blue skies, gentle sea breezes and lots of sunshine. Our reward was rain, wind and freezing temperatures. Nevertheless we were welcomed by a gathering of stalwart fans. Among them was Gurli who had flown in from Denmark but had to rush back for school exams next day."

Leigh Russell interviewed on Harrow radio

The picture shows him with Catherine, whom he describes as "my youngest fan"; she had persuaded her parents to drive all the way from Chesterfield.

...and on the radio

Leigh Russell was interviewed about her new book, Road Closed, on Harrow Community Radio.

Crime Fiction in the Making

Investigative television journalist and novelist Sue Walker and an enthusiastic group of writers conspired to write a crime novel in one day at Guildord library. What makes a good crime story? How do you keep your readers hooked and guessing, from gripping opening to breathtaking denouement? (The clues are in the picture: learn from the experts, and don't run out of biscuits!)
